Stories on Instagram in 2025

In 2025, Instagram is testing a big change for front-page stories, and it's not going unnoticed. ????

The little round bubbles under the profiles will be moved to a specific tab, which will probably be on the same level as the Reels tab, for example. It will be identified by a heart-shaped icon. According to Instagram boss Adam Mosseri, this choice is intended to "enhance the profile and simplify content". The feature has been in testing since November, and some accounts have already received notifications of the move. ????

But not everyone is happy about the change. On TikTok and X (ex-Twitter), users are raging: "It's my whole personality, I'm nothing without it" or "I might as well delete the app". Many lament a loss of identity for the social network, and a reduction in creativity.

Personally, I think it's a bad idea: front-page stories are an integral part of profiles' visual identity. Moving them around could really complicate the user experience. I love the idea of simplifying profiles, but not at the expense of what makes Instagram unique!
