Choosing between Adobe and Canva

June 15, 2022

As an agency, we've always used the Adobe Suite for our graphic creations, although in recent years we've seen more and more people using Canva. It's true that some graphic tasks can be done more easily on Canva than on Adobe.

Today, at the agency, we mainly use Illustrator, InDesign or even Premiere Pro, and a few employees use Canva for different projects. For example, the creative department uses the Adobe Suite mainly for logo design and redesign. This enables us to create high-resolution illustrations for print, such as flyers, business cards or posters.

Canva is very useful for making quick designs or even looking for a royalty-free graphic template. For example, when our web editor needs to create a blog publication image, he'll favor Canva over Adobe to save time. This 100% online tool is useful for personal projects such as invitation cards. Templates can be adapted to different formats, for your social networks, e-mail headers, etc.
Canva also lets you add images and text to your Instagram posts, as well as create videos for YouTube or other platforms.

Canva has a freemium model, meaning that basic use is free. To access the full range of tools, you'll need to upgrade to the paid Professional mode. The basic package lets you create attractive, professional designs.

It's easier to use, faster and more affordable. It also offers live image editing and professional tools such as PSD file export. It also comes with free, ready-to-use design templates, making it much easier to find designs and styles.

Without a doubt, this tool has a clean, minimalist design that's ideal for creative projects. There are also a number of professional tools you can use such as publishing templates, Instagram Story design, etc.

Finally, it offers free themes and professional templates for purchase. You can also use the sharing features with a member of your ideal team to create a presentation for a project where each member wants to add his or her own personal touch. Adobe software is very popular with millions of professionals and design enthusiasts alike. They offer a multitude of tools that enable you to create a unique and professional design for all your online projects.

You can use Adobe software to create unique designs for your website, which are very easy to use and offer many interesting features.

You can also use Adobe Creative Cloud and Adobe Stock to store, share and collaborate on your designs. Adobe offers a complete suite of creative software such as Adobe Photoshop, Adobe Illustrator and Adobe InDesign, making it easy and efficient to create unique, eye-catching designs.

Adobe's creative tools let you create unique, high-quality, eye-catching designs that can be shared on social networks or used in your own creative projects. The Adobe Suite includes graphic design software, image editing tools and vector drawing tools.

Adobe Creative Cloud makes it easy to create professional, eye-catching designs with a simple user interface and powerful design tools.
Adobe Stock is a complete subscription solution for content creators, enabling them to create high-quality visual content quickly and easily thanks to an extensive image bank.
Adobe Sketch is a free, intuitive software package that makes it easy to create 2D drawings, images and models.

Finally, Canva's biggest flaw is its pre-designed graphic templates. While these templates facilitate access to graphic creation, they eliminate the uniqueness of each brand. Indeed, with Canva, several competing dance schools could choose the same template and communicate with the same visuals. They would lose the uniqueness and disruption that are the very essence of graphic design. For this reason, we believe that the direct competitor to the Adobe suite is not Canva, but rather Affinity Designer, which offers total creative freedom. Canva's direct competitor would therefore be Desygner, which also offers pre-designed templates.
